Govt. lost all hope when opposition figures banded together: Dr. Mausoom

Bomb scare is a ruse to divert attention
Govt. in crisis

Former Tourism Minister Dr. Abdullah Mausoom says that the Government was currently in crisis, especially after four opposition figures banded together.

Speaking in Wednesday’s rally in Jumhooree Party headquarters of M. Kunooz, Dr. Mausoom said that Government had a double standard when it came to international parties. He noted that Government was dismissal of constructive criticism by international parties and nations, but was glad to accept their aid.

Dr. Mausoom added that this and other reasons had forced the main four opposition parties to band together for the sake of the nation.

“When this happened, the Government lost all hope. Then they started to react, doing whatever they could [to control the situation],” he said.

Dr. Mausoom cited the bomb scare as a clear example of the Government trying to control the situation and divert attention from the reform agenda.

The former Parliamentarian added that almost all of the four opposition leaders are incarcerated, noting that this was an injustice.

He had also urged voters to cast their ballots against the Government in the upcoming Local Council Elections.
