Barista denies reports of arrest in Friday night search
Police active in the café for a while, left afterwards

Barista has denied reports that arrests were made from the café in the search of the premises conducted by officers of Maldives Police Service (MPS).

Speaking to Raajje.mv, Barista Director of Business Development Wadheef Hassan Saeed said that Police officers had entered the premises on a manhunt as part of their ongoing investigation. He said that Police had been active in the premises for a while and had not made arrests in the search.

Police Spokesperson Ahmed Shifan reported to Raajje.mv, that an individual was brought in for questioning but released afterwards. He also denied that any arrests were made, contrary to the media reports to that effect.

No details on special operations were released to media.

The local branch of Barista was opened in March. The franchise has branches in various locations in Asia.
