Do not want to exhume Raudha’s body: family
Will request against exhumation in Court
Bangladeshi Police say they need to conduct a second autopsy
Police to file a request for exhumation in Court

Raudha Athif’s family has stated that they do not wish to exhume her body for a second autopsy.

Their statement came after the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) filed a petition with a Rajshahi court for the exhumation.

Speaking to Raajje.mv, Raudha’s family said they do not want to exhume her body.

She was buried on April 1st, in Hetomkhan Graveyard in Rajshahi city. At the time of burial, one autopsy had been conducted on her remains. The family had then wanted to an independent autopsy but the decision was later changed as there were logistical difficulties in transporting her body.

Last week Raudha’s father, Dr. Mohamed Athif had filed case in Rajshahi Magistrate Court to properly investigate the matter. The case had been forwarded to CID for further investigation.

Raudha’s second autopsy is necessary as previous autopsy said she had committed suicide while her father rejected it and claimed that she was murdered, Nazmul Karim Khan, special superintendent of CID in Rajshahi, told Bangladesh’s Daily Star news.

“We want no gap in our investigation and her body is an important evidence”, he added.

Officers from Maldives Police Service (MPS) had accompanied the family to Bangladesh and revealed their findings.
