Maldivian students can now submit in their doodle work for Red Bull Doodle Art 2017, until the 26th of April.
The application stage to submit the doodles in Maldives started on April 13, with voting to be held from April 28th of 3rd May.
Top 20 doodles are to be selected based on the number of votes and a national winner will be chosen by three local judges at the national exhibition, which is scheduled for 5th May.
Interested students can submit their artwork through the Red Bull website, or through submission boxes placed around various cafés in the capital Malé City.
Red Bull Doodle Art is a worldwide competition where college students from around the world are encouraged to submit their hand-drawn doodles to be judged. More than fifty thousand students from over 1,000 universities in more than 40 countries are expected to showcase their artworks this year.
Noting that it is giving the students ‘a platform to translate their inspiration and imagination into art’, Red Bull emphasized that ‘doodling has no rules, no restriction, it is a freedom of expression’.
While this will be the third global edition of Red Bull Doodle Art, this year will have an ‘exciting global final; a virtual reality experience’.
“All national winners will get the unique experience to compete in the Global Final in an exciting location. They will be coached on how to up level their 3D artistic skills and create their final piece of art by painting in 3D’, said Red Bull.
The final artworks will be exhibited at a Global Virtual Gallery, and a global winner will be chosen by a panel of judges.
