Parliament Deputy Speaker Moosa Manik has accused Henveyru Central Constitueny MP Ali Azim of using the voting systems of other Members of Parliament on the day of the no confidence motion on Speaker Abdullah Maseeh.
A video on the day’s proceedings have been posted on Riyaz Rasheed’s twitter account. When questioned about the video, Moosa said the video clearly shows that MP Ali Azim had used systems of other MPs.

Moosa said he had nothing else to say on the matter, adding that additional details will be shared once the investigation was over.
Azim has denied the accusations, adding that he had noticed that the Deputy Speaker’s card was inserted into the system. He said he had brought this to Moosa’s attention. He added that he had only checked the voting systems of Mahloof and Moosa, suspecting tampering.
“I give you 100 percent confidence I did not vote,” he said.
Azim said he had called Parliament Secretary General Ahmed Mohamed regarding the video for additional information, but he had not responded to the calls.
On Monday’s no confidence vote on Speaker Abdullah Maseeh, tallies showed that both Deputy Speaker and incarcerated MP for Galolhu South Constituency Ahmed Mahloof had voted.
