460 tested for influenza
169 tested positive
33 admitted for additional treatment

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has confirmed that an additional 14 patients have tested positive for H1N1.

Statistics revealed by HPA said that 460 people have been tested for the virus, with 169 positive cases. Tuesday’s statistics revealed that 437 had been tested for the virus. Out of this, 272 had checked into IGMH’s flu clinic, with 104 checking into ADK flu clinic. 867 had checked into flu clinics in Atolls. In total 1337 people had been reviewed by flu clinics, with the number of patients decreasing day by day.

Doctors stress that personal hygiene and preventative measures such as donning masks in public if symptoms are spotted as key to staying safe. HPA had instructed public not to visit flu clinics unless absolutely necessary, as individuals were more likely to pick up influenza from infected patients in clinics and hospitals.

HPA stressed that majority of the positive cases of H1N1 had made a full recovery.

Three have died from the outbreak.
