A man has been jailed for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old in Gadhdhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of an 18-year-old woman falling victim to sexual abuse in Gadhdhoo island, on Sunday.
Arrested in connection with the case, under accusations of sexually assaulting the woman was a 28-year-old Maldivian man.
The police institution refrained from revealing further details regarding the case, including the perpetrator’s identity.
Further investigations are currently underway.
