A new Commissioner General of Customs and State Minister to the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology have been appointed.
Appointed as the Commissioner General of Customs was Fathimath Dhiyana, native to Hinnavaru island of Lhaviyani atoll.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu made the appointment during a ceremony held for the occasion at the President’s Office on Monday afternoon.
The appointment was made under the powers vested to the president by Article 6(b) of the Maldives Customs Act (Act No. 8/2011).
Dhiyana was appointed as the Commissioner General of Customs, at the state-ministerial level.
Prior to her appointment, Dhiyana served as Deputy Commissioner of Customs.
Following her appointment, Yoosuf Maniu Mohamed, who earlier served as the Commissioner General of Customs, has been appointed as a state minister at the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology.
