A 55-year-old Maldivian man who was arrested for alleged involvement in a case of prostitution, has been released on bail.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) initially arrested a 55-year-old Maldivian man and three foreign women in connection with the case.
The police institution revealed that officers acted on a tip-off that a group of foreigners was involved in prostitution at a place being operated in the capital Malé City as a spa and conducted an operation after sundown on Thursday.
The court-ordered raid saw the arrest of a 55-year-old Maldivian man and three women, native to Thailand.
The three foreign women were two 30-year-olds and a 28-year-old.
Upon being presented to the Criminal Court for their remand hearing, the Maldivian man was released on conditional bail.
The three women however, were jailed for 15 days.
