33 employees actively participated in the course, out of whom 24 successfully completed the course
It carried the purpose of encouraging development of sports professionals within the police service

A Basic Futsal Referee Course has been wrapped up.

The Police Club and the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) collaborated to conduct the Basic Futsal Referee Course.

The course was wrapped up on Wednesday with a certificate awarding ceremony, held at the Sergeant Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) in a statement revealed that certificates were conferred to the participants who successfully completed the course, by State Minister of Sports Fitness and Recreation Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim.

The ceremony was joined by Police Club President Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Rasheed, FAM Director of Referees Ahmed Qasim, Police Club General Secretary Inspector of Police Ali Ibrahim.

Course instructors and participants were also in attendance.

The Basic Futsal Referee Course was carried out from June 27 – July 2.

33 employees actively participated in the course, out of whom 24 successfully completed the course.

They included two female employees.

MPS revealed that the initiative was part of the Police Club's ongoing efforts to pave the path for opportunities for employees who are interested in pursuing careers in football refereeing.

Further, it also carried the purpose of encouraging development of sports professionals within the police service.
