The Special Envoy of the Japanese Prime Minister, Komura Masahiro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, has paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The meeting took place at the President’s Office, on Saturday.
During this meeting, the President warmly welcomed and thanked the Japanese delegation for visiting the Maldives to witness the Presidential Inauguration. The Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister stated that it was an honor to attend the inauguration ceremony and congratulated the President on his assumption of office.
During the call, the President and the Parliamentary Vice-Minister emphasized the long-standing relations between the Maldives and Japan, recalling some of the cooperative developmental projects undertaken by Japanese assistance in the Maldives. The President also spoke on investment opportunities in the Maldives and potential collaborations in this realm.
Concluding the call, the President expressed his hope for additional collaboration, strengthening the existing relations and establishing further cooperation. The Special Envoy reiterated Japan’s dedication to fortifying the bilateral ties between the two nations.
