The country’s national airline, Maldivian now conducts four weekly flights to Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Taking to Twitter, Maldivian revealed that the change is effective from March 17.

Currently, flights are being operated on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays and with the amendment, flights will be scheduled for Wednesdays as well.

One-way ticket fares start at USD 433 and every passenger is allowed to carry baggage weighing no more than 30kg.

Individuals are required to contact any of the airline’s offices for bookings and inquiries.

Maldivian began operating direct flights to Dhaka during September 2020. Back then, Maldivian operated two weekly flights to Dhaka on Tuesdays and Fridays and upgraded to three weekly flights during October the same year.

Despite flights being halted internationally due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Maldivian played a major role in evacuating the Bangladeshi citizens stranded in Maldives due to restrictive measures to safeguard from the Covid-19 pandemic. As such, the airline has carried Bangladeshi evacuees on 26 flights thus far.
