Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Fathimath Muna- who was suspended back in August- has begun work at her previous office, the Maldives Media Council (MMC).
She began work as MMC as the Youth Ministry failed to lift her suspension and call her back to work.
Muna was suspended the same week she was appointed as a permanent secretary at the Ministry.
While the authorities have not disclosed the reason for her suspension, a media official at the Civil Service Commission had said that a case involving Muna had been filed at the Commission, adding that it had launched an investigation into the matter. However, RaajjeMV was unable to obtain further details on the matter.
According to Muna, who has spoken to local news outlets, following her resignation, she opted to resign from her post at the ministry. She also said that it was the Civil Service Commission that appointed her as MMC's director general.
Muna, who had previously filled the post of MMC's corporate affairs director, was appointed as Youth Ministry's permanent secretary on August 1. She has a Bachelors in Management and Marketing, as well as a Master's in Business Administration.
She began her career in government in 2005, as a secretary at Gaafu Alifu atoll office.
