Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that incumbent President Abdulla Yameen knows what the people want.
Speaking at Sunday night's Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) gathering, to mark its sixth anniversary, the minister said that the President 'is bringing the kind of development that the people want'.
While the gathering was held in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi, coinciding with the inauguration of the controversial airport project there, Muizzu revealed that "bigger projects" were in store for the island.
Noting that "this government will big the biggest harbor the Maldives has seen in Kulhudhuffushi," Minister Muizzu said that it will be built with foreign assistance. However, he did not reveal who will be funding the project.
"Under President Yameen's leadership, the biggest and most magnificent harbor will be built in Kulhudhuffushi. We are to start work on the project in May next year. With foreign aid," he stated.
Furthermore, Minister Muizzu noted that this will pave the way for additional projects in Kulhudhuffushi, such as a ferry terminal and fish market.
