Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. Mohamed Shainee landed in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday evening.
The Embassy of Maldives in Saudi Arabia said, via twitter, that the minister was received by Ambassador Abdulla Hameed at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Minister Shainee also sent out a tweet after arriving in Saudi Arabia, revealing that he had also met with Saudi Arabia's representative to the Maldives.

However, neither the Minister nor the Embassy have shared details regarding this sudden trip.
The government of Maldives has been working to strengthen relations between Arab nations, with officials traveling to United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Lebanon recently.
