Mohamed Shafau Hassan has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC).
President of the Privatization and Corporation Board, Ali Nizar confirmed his appointment via twitter on Tuesday afternoon.

Prior to this appointment, Shafau was the Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB). He had previously filled the post of Assistant Manager at the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).
His appointment comes after Mohamed Nimal's resignation from the post in June this year. He was appointed in Match, after his predecessor Abdul RAzzaq Haleem's appointed as the head of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).
Following Nimal's resignation, Ahmed Mamdhooh was the acting MD.
