Body of Abdulla Fathhy, who passed away in Bangladesh on October 31, has been brought back to the Maldives.
In a tweet sent out late Friday night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Fathhy's body had been brought back home on his family's request.

The Ministry sent out a separate tweet, sending condolences to the family, as well as thanking those that helped in the process.

65-year-old Fathhy, from Addu City, died suddenly a day before he was to return to Maldives. There are questions surrounding his unexpected death, and the Maldives Police Service (MPS) has confirmed that they have launched an investigation into his death.
According to Fathhy's family, he traveled to Bangladesh in October to marry a woman from there. He is to have gone there with MVR 149,000 (800,000 Taka) as a dowry.
Fathhy leaves behind 11 children.
