In the letter, MP Abdullah said he was elected to the Thinadhoo South seat and he had been fulfilling the responsibilities of that seat. However, he said he was dismissed from the ethics committee of the ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives, days after he had requested to leave the Party. The Parliamentarian added that he was informed that he had lost his Parliament seat, referencing to the Supreme Court ruling on floor crossing.
MP Abdullah said that following this, he had been deprived of his rights and privileges accorded to him as a Parliamentarian.
He further noted that he is yet to be formally notified that he was no longer a Parliamentarian.
EC stripped him of his seat on September 5th. He resigned from PPM on July 10th.
