‘President Yameen will be arrested after elections’, warns MP Mahloof
President Yameen must be arrested
Citizens need justice
Vowed to rake in 200,000 votes

Galolhu South Constituency MP Ahmed Mahloof has indicated that President Abdullah Yameen will be arrested after the 2018 Presidential elections and that he will be held accountable for his actions.

Speaking in Sunday night’s edition of RaajjeTV’s Fala Surukhee program from Colombo, Sri Lanka, MP Mahloof said President Yameen’s past and current crimes must be looked into in order to establish justice for citizens.

‘My advice to President Yameen is if he were to contest in the Presidential elections, he should stay abroad. If not, we will fight on this. I’ll be clear on this, President Yameen is someone who must be arrested. There are many like that in President Yameen’s inner circle,’ he said.

MP Mahloof noted that the Elections Commission (EC) will attempt to skew the results of 2018 Presidential elections. He warned this was a false view and that the present administration should not attempt this.

MP Mahloof pledged to rake in around 200,000 votes for the opposition.

‘We estimate we’ll be able to bring in around 200,000 votes. We expect that around 260,000 will vote. If we bring in 200,000 votes, there’s no way Amjad or Sulaiman can change the results,’ Mahloof said.
