RaajjeTV has opened the station’s ‘Aburufulhu fund’ in response to the MVR 500,000 fine imposed by the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC).
The station’s fund box was opened at 4.30pm and the first contribution was made by Thimarafushi Constituency MP Mohamed Musthafa.
Speaking to press after opening the fund, MP Musthafa described these penalties as attacks on the station with the end goal to shut down the station.
RaajjeTV Chief Operating Officer Hussain Fiyaz Moosa said the penalties were part of the attacks made by state institutions to completely decimate and shut down RaajjeTV.
RaajjeTV News Director Husham Mohamed said interested parties from the atolls can call RaajjeTV’s 300.7771 for additional details. Husham added that donations to the fund can be made to the box placed in the premises and to a designated bank account.
RaajjeTV first opened a fund box back in April after a MVR 1 million fine was levied on the station, just hours after the station paid a fine of MVR 200,000.
