JSC to hold interviews for potential judges on Wednesday

The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has announced that they will begin the selecting process for those that had applied to adjudication positions at the Civil Court and Criminal Court this week.

The first interviews for those that were shortlisted have been scheduled for 9:00 am on Wednesday.

JSC’s statement August 19th says that the Criminal Court and Civil Court requires two more judges, each.

Judges are eligible for a monthly compensation of MVR 30,000 in additional to a living allowance of 15,000.

Civil Court judges will also receive a risk allowance of MVR 1,650 while Criminal Court judges will receive 3,300.

JSC had also said that judges will receive a phone allowance and medical insurance. The commission had set the deadline for applications at 14:00 on 10th September.
