RaajjeTV's "Maldives with Rohingya" telethon has amassed MVR 2 million.

The telethon, which began at 1442hrs on Sunday, passed the MVR 2 mark around 1645hrs on Monday.

Several companies, cafés, restaurants, civil society bodies, councils, clubs and citizens donated to the fund.

‘[The station] thanks all Maldivians, especially all those who had donated and continue to donate to the fund,’ RaajjeTV Chief Operating Officer (COO) Hussain Fiyaz Moosa said.

The telethon, initially set for a 24-hour period was extended to 30 hours. The telethon will end at 2030hrs on Monday.
