One more suspected has been arrested over the brutal murder of Mohamed Anas.
Media officer at the Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that the suspect was apprehended from an island in Laamu atoll and that he has since been transferred to the capital Malé City.
Police did not reveal any further information.
Police has previously made a total of 14 arrests in connection to the Anas' murder, including two arrests on July 18. A 23-year-old and a minor, both males, were arrested from a house called Dhimishq, in Malé. Some of those arrested have since been released.
25-year-old Anas, native to Meedhoo island of Raa atoll, was stabbed to death by a group of masked assailants on the 31st of July. Anas who worked on a speedboat was killed not too long after he arrived in Malé that night.
CCTV footage from Litus Service Center, where the attack took place, show the attackers pursuing him before stabbing him to death.
