Maldives Police Service (MPS) is searching for the driver of a motorcycle, after an elderly man died due to life-threatening injuries from a hit-and-run collision in Hulhumalé on Wednesday.
64-year-old Ibrahim Rasheed had sustained serious injuries to the head in the accident, and had passed away while receiving treatment at ADK Hospital in the capital Malé City on Friday evening. He was transferred there from Hulhumale' Hospital, due to the seriousness of his injuries.
The accident took place on Wednesday near Habib Bank on Nirolhu Magu, in Hulhumale', with police informing that the collision took place when a speeding motorcycle hit Rasheed's motorcycle as he was parking.
The other driver had fled the scene, leaving behind the motorcycle he was driving.
