The Criminal Court’s Judge Ahmed Rasheed was suspended for having used language that Chief Judge Abdulla Arif found disparaging, a reliable source has informed.
Judge Rasheed was suspended on August 23rd, reportedly in relation to an ongoing case with the Judicial Services Commission.
The decision was made at the commission by its deputy chair, Mohamed Faisal, an appointee of the President’s Office.
The Judicial Service Commission is yet to reveal any further details about the suspension, save for that they are still investigating the matter.
