AG submits motion to nullify order to send Qasim abroad
Case sent in by AG Office
Motion sent to nullify only the order on Qasim’s medical
PG Office says they had not appealed case

Attorney Generals’ Office has submitted a motion to nullify part of the verdict announced on Maamigili Constituency MP Qasim Ibrahim.

The motion submitted concerned part of the verdict that ordered state institutions to facilitate medical treatment for the Parliamentarian.

MP Qasim was sentenced for three years, two months and 12 days in jail on attempted bribery charges. The verdict noted that MP Qasim faced life-threatening arrhythmia if medical treatment was delayed and ordered relevant bodies to make arrangements for him to fly abroad.

When contacted by RaajjeMV, PG Office said they are yet to appeal the case.

However, RaajjeMV understands the order on sending Qasim abroad had been filed with High Court, requesting for a nullification.
