Criminal Court has scheduled hearings of attempted assassination charges raised against former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb for Sunday. The hearing will be held at 2pm.

The charges were raised on the former Vice President for hiring a Sri Lankan national Lahiru Madhushanka in October 2015 to carry out an assassination attempt on President Abdullah Yameen.

In addition to Adeeb, Madhushanka, Fazeel Hameed of Maafannu Lily Park and Ishaq Hussain of Galolhu Oivaali have been charged on the same issue.

State had already presented witnesses to back their claims.

Adeeb is currently serving a 33-year jail term on multiple charges.
