A new Maldivian High Commissioner and Maldivian Ambassador have been appointed to two countries.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu made the appointments on Wednesday.

The president handed over letters of appointment to the newly appointed high commissioner and ambassador during a special ceremony held at the President's Office on Wednesday.
Aishath Azeema was appointed as the High Commissioner of Maldives to India.
Ahmed Sareer was appointed as the Ambassador of Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Azeema is a career diplomat who has served in multiple positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1988.
After serving as the Ambassador of Maldives to China from 2019 to 2023, she most recently held the position of Additional Secretary at the Foreign Ministry, heading the India Division.
Since 1986, Sareer has held several positions in the foreign service
He previously worked in Saudi Arabia as the Asia Director for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Prior to this appointment, Sareer was serving as the Ambassador-at-Large.
