The investigation into the case of council member of Ihavandhoo island in Haa Alif atoll, Ahmed Rilwan being kidnapped and robbed, has been completed and sent to the Prosecutor General's Office for prosecution.
Rilwan detailed how the incident unfolded, while speaking to RaajjeMV.
The victim revealed that he was near a house on Dilbahaaru Magu when a middle-aged woman called out to him, asking for help to change a light bulb in the house.
As soon as he entered the house, the woman is to have locked the door. Afterwards, two men are to have attacked him, knocked him to the ground and beat him. They are also to have threatened him and attempted to rob him.
His captors took his mobile phone and wallet and transferred MVR 20,000 from his account to another account.
They then ordered him to give the password of his cash card to the woman who lured him into the house.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of a Maldivian man being brought into a house in Maafannu-ward, threatened with a knife, stripped naked, assaulted and robbed on July 24.
Further, cash was withdrawn from an ATM using his cash card as well.
Police wrapped up the investigation and have since forwarded the case for prosecution.
The case was sent to the Prosecutor General's Office on September 9, requesting a decision on prosecuting Aishath, 43, Mohamed Reehan, 27 and Shafeeq Ibrahim, 35.
