The distribution of Zakat al-Fitr in grains will proceed through Tuesday.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs began the process of distributing Zakat al-Fitr received in Malé City in grains on Monday.
Maldives Zakat House revealed that the process of distributing Zakat al-Fitr in grains will proceed at Aminiya School hall.
Zakat was distributed in grains from 11am to 4pm and from 8:30pm to 10:30pm on Monday.
On Tuesday, it was distributed from 11am to 4pm and will resume from 8:30pm through 10:30pm.
Zakat al-Fitr in grains will be distributed to households and individuals registered as poor in the capital city.
The opportunity to make Zakat al-Fitr payments was opened on March 31.
The window closed at sundown, on April 9.
Maldives Zakat House revealed that the island councils will make arrangements to accept Zakat in grains, in their respective islands.
Grains accepted in Zakat payments include traditional rice, basmati rice, red rice, Thai rice, floud, wheat flour and atta flour.
