Former President Mohamed Nasheed has met Canadian Ambassador Shelly Whiting.

This was the farewell call for the Ambassador. In the meeting, President Nasheed thanked the Ambassador for the close relations she had maintained over the years and her insistence on implementing democracy and rule of law.

The two had discussed on the current political crisis in the Maldives.

Ambassador Whiting paid farewell calls on Indian Ambassador Akhilesh Mishra and Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim. She had also met senior figures of the joint opposition movement as well.
