Criminal Court has remanded Thulusdhoo Constituency MP Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim for 15 days.

Criminal Court on Tuesday ordered that MP Waheed should be placed in an area designated by Home Ministry for 15 days.

MP Waheed was arrested around 11.30 pm on Monday.

The Court order warranting his arrest stated that MP Waheed had forcefully broken Police ranks and entered Parliament grounds. It also noted that as MP Waheed has been stripped from his Parliament seat, he had no legal grounds to be inside the Parliament grounds. Additionally, it said that if he was not detained, he posed a security risk and could tamper evidence.

A copy of a letter sent in by Parliament was presented as evidence.

Elections Commission has stripped him from his Parliament seat, but Supreme Court is yet to make a decision on the matter.
