Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has expressed their deep concerns over the restriction of public rights especially in light of recent developments.

A statement released by the Commission stated that differences between dissemination of information to the public from institutions that have a specific mandate, was of deep concern to the public.

As such, the Commission called on all relevant bodies to respect the laws and regulations.

The Commission added that they were closely following the developments and will carry out their mandate.
