Police have concluded their search of MP Faris Maumoon's residence in capital city Malé, and taken the lawmaker into police custody.
RaajjeMV's reporters on the scene say that the parliamentarian is being escorted to the prison in Dhoonidhoo island.
Police had begun searching the residence on Tuesday morning with a court warrant.
The court order says that the apartment was searched as part of the ongoing investigation of attempted bribery allegations against members of the opposition.
Police had confiscated multiple items from the residence, including documents and storage devices.
