President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has marked the completion of newly completed infrastructure projects in Dharavandhoo and Kudarikilu Islands of Baa Atoll.
President Solih attended ceremonies to officially inaugurate these projects on Wednesday.
The coastal protection project on Dharavandhoo Island was completed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). As part of the project, a 144-metre revetment was installed, and beach nourishment works were carried out to counteract erosion.
MT Højgaard Pvt. Ltd. completed the coastal protection project and harbor upgrade on Kudarikilu Island. The project involved dredging the harbor and its channel's basin, constructing a ramp, installing port lights, and constructing 1,630 square meters of pavement. An 819-metre revetment was also developed as part of the coastal protection project.
These improvements will enhance the safety and functionality of the harbor for the benefit of the local community.
The new infrastructure on Dharavandhoo and Kudarikilu Islands were officially inaugurated as part of President Solih's tour of the atoll.
These projects, developed under his administration to improve the quality of life for residents on the islands. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
