Falaah alleges that he was offered MVR 32 million for Maseeh’s no confidence vote
ACC said they were reviewing the case
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says that the agency has begun reviewing the alleged bribery attempts made on Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah.
MP Falah alleges that he was offered a bribe of MVR 32 million to vote in favor of the no confidence motion on Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh.
An official of ACC reported to RaajjeMV that they had been notified of the case, as the MP made the claim in front of media. He added they had begun to review the case on their own accord.
The official said they were now collecting and reviewing information.
Speaking in a press conference held in PPM Offices, following high-profile defections from the Party, MP Falah said the opposition had sought to bribe him with MVR 32 million. However, he did not say who had offered the bribe and said that he had shared this information with relevant authorities.
Both Maldives Police Service (MPS) and ACC had confirmed that no such case had been filed with their agencies.
