Speaking in the event held to held where Parliament Deputy Speaker MP Moosa Manik signed to ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives, President Yameen said the only way Adeeb can go abroad for medical treatment was if he paid back all the funds taken from the state.

President Yameen said that Adeeb was more than welcome to fly in doctors or fully utilize all services available at IGMH.

The President said that some of the MPs who had defected, had tried to force him into releasing Adeeb.

President Yameen also spoke on the letter sent by Adeeb to Supreme Court, stating that former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim was innocent of the weapons possession charges against him.

He said even in this case, some MPs had pressured him to free Nazim. However, he said that he was not one to interfere in the rulings of the judicial justice system.
