In his address, President Solih conveyed his best wishes and felicitations to all workers across the island nation as well as their families, and the groups and organizations that support them.

President Solih shed light on the initiatives taken over the last four years to ensure better working conditions and workers' rights in his address, going on to highlight the introduction of a six-month paid maternity leave and a one-month paid paternity leave for the first time in the archipelago nation.

Further, he emphasized on the establishment of a minimum wage along with the mandating of equal service fee distribution among workers in the tourism sector, through a law.

Shedding light on the incumbent administration’s efforts to harmonize pay among employees in several sectors, the Maldivian leader stated that this is an effort to improve the salaries and earnings of employees and give them merit-based pay as well as to foster goodwill among workers.
