Long-time government employee, Buchaage Dhon Manik has passed away.

Dhon Manik's family disclosed that he passed away at 04:45 am Brisbane time on 25 April, 2023.

One of his most famous accomplishments throughout his lengthly career is the significant part he played in signing the censor cards, as part of the Ministry of Home Affairs's film censor board. Throughout his career, from 28 March 1980, he signed more than 100,000 cards.

Dhon Manik served the government for more than 40 years and received two pensions. He received his first pension on 17 June 1940.

The positions he served in include Secretary of the Department of Public Security, Secretary of the Investigation Committee, Special Counsel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Counsel of the Public Maintenance Division and Counsel of the Marine Division.

Dhon Manik also served as the Atoll Chief of the Northern Maalhosmadulu Atoll.
