Thulusdhoo Constituency MP Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim says that any actions taken by the ruling coalition will be in vain and that the only option for them was for Speaker Abdullah Maseeh to offer his resignation.
He made the statement speaking in RaajjeTV’s ongoing coverage of the current political situation.
Referring to the trip taken by the MPs of the ruling coalition, MP Waheed said that any and all trips taken by the ruling coalition will fail to yield results. He said the MPs with the reform movement were committed to their mandate and therefore the only option was for Maseeh to offer his resignation.
‘MP Maseeh should offer his resignation. They first fixed it to 42, how much is 42? We sent [the no confidence motion] with 45 MPs. He has to accept that the no confidence vote has already been taken,’ he said.
MP Waheed further said he was sure of their success, in spite of the challenges being posed by the Government and ruling coalition.
He responded to the allegations made that their reform movement was powered by personal agendas. MP Waheed said the reform movement was started for the betterment of the nation and citizens and free and empower state institutions.
