'President Yameen must resign if he hopes to survive politically': MP Ali Nizar
Nizar said that President Yameen has an obligation to be ‘obedient’ to the people and that this requires him to resign from office
He added that President Yameen himself needs to ‘work harder in order to attain the appeasement of fellow political leaders’

The only means President Abdulla Yameen has of maintaining public trust is to abide by the will of the people, which calls for his resignation, said MP Ali Nizar.

At an opposition rally held at Kunooz, the Jumhooree Party’s primary rally site, Nizar said that he has an obligation to be ‘obedient’ to the people and that this requires him to resign from office and ‘make amends for his wrongs’.

Nizar further said that the Yameen administration has failed to serve its people, and in doing has proven itself to be treacherous, adding that President Yameen himself needs to ‘work harder in order to attain the appeasement of fellow political leaders’.

The opposition parliamentarian went on to say that President Yameen has also proved himself to be an unauthoritative leader by conferring power to those politicians without much experience in the socio-economic spheres of the country.
