Former President Mohamed Nasheed has slammed his successor incumbent President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom for the treatment of his onetime deputy, Ahmed Adeeb.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday, Nasheed said that Adeeb was a star witness; a fact that Yameen was well aware of.
‘That's why he's being treated degradingly and denied medical care,’ says Nasheed, labeling this as ‘disgraceful’.
Pres.Yameen knows Adeeb could be a star witness against him. That's why he's being treated degradingly and denied medical care- disgraceful.

Nasheed’s tweet came after Galolhu South Constituency MP Ahmed Mahloof had tweeted a picture allegedly of the cell inhabited by Adeeb, in Dhoonidhoo island.

The revelation had elicited severe criticism from the public against the Government, which had denied the repeated requests to release Adeeb for medical treatment. The Government had denied to authorize the leave citing that Adeeb posed a flight risk.
