Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb claims that former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim had no knowledge of the pistol and bullets that were discovered in his residence. The investigation into the pistol did not reveal fingerprints of either Nazim or any of his family members. Police later on said the fingerprints on the pistol were of Adeeb’s.
High Court had upheld Criminal Court’s verdict on Nazim; his appeal was rejected by Supreme Court. Neither Courts had taken into account the discoveries made on the pistol
Adeeb made these claims in a letter he sent to Supreme Court, clearing Nazim of the charges, stating that he was privy to the real perpetrators. He further said he was ready to testify that Nazim was innocent in a court of law.
