A team of Indian social media influencers have concluded their familiarization trip to Maldives.

The group of prominent Indian influencers and celebrities arrived in the Maldives on an invitation by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relation Corporation’s (MMPRC) on 07th April 2022.

The team concluded their trip on April 11th 2022.

MMPRC stated that this familiarization trip was arranged under efforts put forward by the corporation to maintain the Maldives’ position as the top of the mind destination in the Indian market.

The influencers and celebrities team of India consisted of Ashi Kanna, Shruti Sinha, Mehak Ghai and Aashna Malani , who have a larger number of followers in the social media.

MMPRC said that the team enjoyed their stay in Maldives at Sun Island Resort & Spa and LE Meridien Resort & Spa. The team experienced several adventurous and leisure experiences in the Maldives such as snorkeling, spa and wellness facilities, watersports, as well as other unique Maldivian experiences.

In addition to this, MMPRC stated that the team embarked on a gastronomic journey and discovered haute gourmet cuisines unique to each property.

MMPRC states that the social media influencers, while exploring Maldives, promoted the highlights of their escapades and journey on their digital and social media platforms. The posts are estimated to have reached 5.7 million viewers.

Prior to the familiarization trip a media announcement event was held at the Westin Garden City, Mumbai on the 6th of April to announce the familiarization trip.

India was the top source market to the Maldives in 2021.

MMPRC held 27 marketing activities in the Indian market last year. These included joint-marketing campaigns, webinars, participation in major fairs and exhibitions, roadshows, as well as hosting familiarization trips. They say that similar activities are planned for the market this year as well.

As of 30th March 2022, Maldives have welcomed 46,154 travelers from India.
