Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened a new self-service banking ATM center in Kurendhoo island of Lhaviyani atoll.

In an effort to support the island community and the national bank’s ongoing efforts to expand its services in outlying atolls in support of island communities, BML opened the center in the island on Monday.

These centers will support individuals and businesses in depositing and transferring money on a round-the-clock basis, in addition to the general cash withdrawal service.

The center houses a state-of-the-art multi-functional ATM and the bank has been continually investing in efforts to support local communities, BML revealed in a statement.

Lhaviyani atoll also has a BML branch and self-service banking incepted in Naifaru island, as well as self-service banking ATM in Hinnavaru.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BML, Aishath Noordeen expressed delight to support the Kurendhoo island community with the introduction of banking service on the island.

“We are delighted to support the community of Kurendhoo with the introduction of banking service in the island. This center will benefit the people and businesses of the island and ensure convenient and widely accessible banking services without the need to travel”

The country’s national bank is committed to support individuals, businesses and communities across Maldives, with a nationwide network of 35 branches across 20 atolls, 77 self-service banking centers, 135 ATMs, more than 200 agents and a full suite of digital banking services.
