Bank of Maldives (BML) and Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) have announced that they will be closed on December 31, coinciding with the upcoming New Year.
In a post shared by BML and MIB, it was stated that the banks will be closed starting from December 31 for a period of five days.
The banks noted that they will resume services on 5 January 2025.
As the banks will be closed for five days coinciding with the New Year, they have requested customers to complete their transactions in advance.
The country’s national bank, BML said that although the bank will be closed during this period, internet and mobile banking services, self-service ATMs, and customer support services will remain available.
MIB stated that during the bank closure period, e-banking, ATM services, and customer care center services will remain accessible.
BML is currently the most widely used bank in the Maldives.
