The government of Maldives has entered an agreement with Turkey, in order to develop the tourism sector of both countries.
In her ongoing trip to Turkey, Transport Minister Aishath Nahula signed the air service agreement on behalf of the Maldivian government. On behalf of Turkey, the agreement was signed by Transport Minister, Adil Karaismailoglu.
While speaking about the agreement, Turkey’s Transport Minister, Adil stated that under this agreement, the civil aviation sector will be further developed and affirmed that difficulties faced by the civil aviation sector in both countries will be solved.
He also affirmed that this agreement would strengthen the bond between the two nations and advance their economic and tourism sectors.
After the signing ceremony, both minister had a private meeting in which discussions were conducted on ways Maldives can further develop their air service connections with Turkey, in addition to transport services through sea.
