The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s Technical Advisory Group (TAG) has urged individuals to always use a face mask when going into closed spaces, as the government begins easing the lockdown on Thursday.

Speaking to press on Wednesday night regarding the process of easing the lockdown imposed across the Greater Malé Region, the team’s leader, Dr. Ali Latheef revealed that it is important to keep in mind to always use face masks whenever individuals go out of the house, especially in closed spaces.

Be it a shop or anywhere public services are provided, Dr. Latheef has pushed the citizens to use face masks, regularly.

Going on to shed light on the importance of maintaining the practice of social distancing, the doctor stated that the chances of beating the Covid-19 virus are higher, should citizens abide by the safety instructions given by authorities, such as regular handwashing.

Further, Dr. Latheef noted that it is important for major businesses and offices to make arrangements to screen their staff at entry points, for temperature and flu-like symptoms.

The doctor has pushed everyone to pay special attention to precautionary measures in this situation.
