Authorities are looking for three individuals who tested positive for coronavirus during random sampling.
Covid-19 taskforce’s spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz confirmed this at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s press briefing on Wednesday night.
Highlighting that details of individuals who are tested during random sampling are noted down, Mabrook said that they had issues locating seven of those that that had tested positive.
While NEOC had sought the police’s assistance in locating them, Mabrook said that four of the individuals have been found and that work is underway to find the remaining three. He did not reveal their nationality.
However, the spokesperson disclosed that four of the samples were taken from “a containment site” while the other three were from different addresses.
Most of the confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Maldives are migrant workers, and a number of their households are being monitored given the vulnerability to Covid-19 due to congestion.
