Cargo boat crashes into lighthouse
The accident was reported to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) at around 08:14 am on Wednesday.
The cargo boat had been carrying cement from Villimalé to Funadhoo island.
None of the five-member crew were injured in the accident.

Fesco, a cargo boat loaded with cement has collided into Funadhoo island’s light house.

The accident was reported to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) at around 08:14 am on Wednesday, which had dispatched a coast guard vessel operating in the Malé area to provide assistance.

The cargo boat had been carrying cement from Villimalé to Funadhoo island, and the accident occurred while was attempting to dock at the latter island.

The MNDF said that none of the five-member crew were injured in the accident, and that Fesco’s owner had brought another boat to transfer the cargo into.
